WP4 – Monitoring

To determine whether a programme has been effective with regard to its impact on morbidity and mortality requires continuous follow up of the target population over an extended time frame. Early performance indicators can be used to estimate its potential long term impact, based on their relationship with the expected outcome. The collection, analysis and interpretation of the relevant data and indicators represent therefore a key component in the evaluation of screening.

This WP will focus specifically on supporting the implementation of screening registries which can allow producing and processing quantitative data on key performance indicators, in order to provide inputs for the monitoring of the implementation, evaluation and modelling. Data collection will first concentrate on Georgia, Romania and Montenegro, and in the workshops participants of other Eastern European countries will be enabled to use the web-based monitoring tool to evaluate their key indicators and to compare these with the results of other countries.

The project was launched in May 2021 and will continue to April 2026.
