Iris Lansdorp-Vogelaar on national tv in Montenegro

On 08 June 2022 an expert meeting on the topic of organised screening programmes in Montenegro was held, hosted by the Institute of Public Health (IPH). Representatives of the Ministry of Health, coordinating bodies for the fight against malignant diseases in Montenegro, representatives of health centers, hospitals and clinical centers of Montenegro, colleagues from IPH, journalists and lecturers were present. Presentations were held by IPH on the burden of malignant neoplasms, the importance of organised screening programmes and the current screening programmes in Montenegro. In addition, Erasmus MC, Topicus and CPO, consortium partners of the EU-TOPIA-EAST project, gave several presentations. During the meeting, simultaneous translation with two interpreters was provided for all present listeners and lecturers.

Iris Lansdorp-Vogelaar, Associate Professor at Erasmus MC, spoke about the importance of the organised screening programme for colon cancer in the Netherlands and the role Erasmus MC plays. She presented the models and the results of the screening programme.

The event was covered in the media by Televizija Crne Gore- Prvi programme and Nova M Television, the most important television stations in Montenegro. The video was shown in the Central News on several occasions during June 09 and 10, 2022.
